The Wisdom of the Madman on Love

There was great confusion among the habitants of the town, since they all were talking about Love because it was their favorite topic. Some said: " I have a great love but I am very jealous." Other said, "I also love a lot and thus I demand and control a lot."Other said: "My love is great, greater than yours, what I feel is possession."Other said: " My love is sensible, fragile and delicate, love makes me cry"And in this fashion, many declared their great love. Then, their king brought the wisest men who started to select who was the best: obsessive, domineering, demanding and aggressive. And the wise men said that this was a mysterious thing, since they didn't know that there was so much love, and they needed to decipher that question. And they brought the wisest of the wise who lived in a cave in the mountain. All were reunited and pretending that they were the winners and brought their neighbors, friends and relatives since everybody wanted to be best recognized in front of everybody. Then, the oldest wise man came and listened patiently all the declarations of love and as he listened, thick tears were running down his face and the persons in the meeting, said: " See how moved he is. What a great opportunity! When everybody had finished, the old wise man looked at the persons and said: " I have listened with attention and I can tell you without any doubt that I feel great pity for you since nothing of what you said is love, because in truth you all don't know the meaning of love. You have presented with great vanity the feeling of been selfish, you want to control, to posses and manipulate. You assume that love is like an object, or mere obsession and manipulation. You think of love like object of pure obsession and in your pretension and illusion, you only see your own heart but don't know anything about love. The public felt confused but out of ignorance, didn't want to accept that reality and said that the man was crazy. And he was thrown out of the city and they even dare to crown themselves as great lovers. In the meantime, the wise man went back to his cave in the mountain and was thinking: " Immature, blind, hallucinated, because Love is a feeling of reverence to the loved one. Love is the sincere surrender of the heart and is not like an emperor wanting to rule the sky and even the stars. Love is the essence of the spirit who rather Gives than Receives.
